Local Amenities

Here are some of the local services:-

St Mary’s Church - Parish Church of Troston. For details of service times, and the people who conduct them, visit the Blackbourne Ministry Team website.

Ixworth Doctors’ Surgery - Only 5 minutes’ drive away from the village. The practice has a pharmacy, dispensing both prescription and over-the-counter medicines to both patients and non-patients (open 8.30 am - 6.30 pm Mon-Fri and 10 am - 12 pm Sat).

Repeat Prescription Service - Save yourself a trip to Ixworth Doctors’ Surgery by using the village’s Repeat Prescription Service. Simply hand in your script at Amanda Stoner’s chiropody practice by 9 am Tuesday, and you can collect your medication on Thursday afternoon.

Ixworth Surgery Patients’ Association Web Shop
Ixworth Surgery Patients’ Association has joined the 21st century! Those of you who shop online can log onto the Ixworth Surgery Patients’ Association Web Shop, at www.buy.at/ipa and see a host of companies who support the ISPA’s fundraising, such as Tesco, M&S, Mothercare, Amazon, Sky, John Lewis and many more. Every time you make a purchase online through the ISPA web page, the association will earn a commission. The price charged by the retailer is exactly the same as if you bought direct, and as you know the internet is often far cheaper than the High Street. Keep logging on for details of special deals.

History of Troston Village - Read about Troston’s history (past and on-going) in a book compiled about 20 years ago by the late Janet Barnard, with the help of many villagers. Not available in bookshops, this lovingly-created account of the village’s past records the changes in both buildings and residents, together with anecdotal tales of village life through the ages. Contact David Corrie, present custodian of the book, on 01359 268134, for details.
